These distinctives marked us from the beginning and continue to shape us as we grow:  

 

E x p o s i t o r y   T e a c h i n g

God graciously reveals Himself in the incredibly relevant and supernatural book, the Bible. We don't want to miss anything He has to say about Himself or how we relate to Him. Expository teaching method is the verse-by-verse study and explanation of God's word. We primarily, while not exclusively, teach this way to insure that we get a balanced diet of the “whole counsel of God.”

   

E l d e r   L e a d e r s h i p

The church is governed by a plurality of biblically qualified elders who provide spiritual oversight and guard the mission and values of the body. In prayerful dependence and diligent commitment to the authority of God's Word, the elders' role is to determine how the Lord, who is the Head of the body, wishes to direct His church. (See “beliefs” for further information concerning Elders.)

  

 

T e a m   M i n i s t r y

The New Testament church was led by teams of people who worked in mutual submission to one another. Our approach to leadershipfollows this same model. You will find no senior pastor at GraceBibleChurch but rather a pastoral team of individuals who function in specific roles based upon gifting and calling. They serve the church through such venues as teaching, missions, and discipleship.  All leaders, Elders, pastors, teachers, and community group leaders are asked to maintain an attitude of Christ as demonstrated through servant leadership.

 

L i f e  A p p l i c a t i o n

Truth must be applied in order to be fully realized. For this reason, we ask Sunday listeners to apply the truth on a personal level. You may hear the teaching pastor ask the questions of “So what?” or “Now what?” as a means of guiding listeners to move beyond something we know in our heads toward something we apply to our hearts and then demonstrate in our lives. A quiet time of personal reflection follows each teaching session as well.

 

 

R e l a t i o n s h i p s

One mark of our growth is the measure of our relational depth and integrity. We embrace deep relationships as a pathway to intimacy by learning to live in true committed friendships. We encourage all believers to take seriously God's practical instructions of keeping the unity Christ prayed for in John 17.  Genuine relational intimacy and significant spiritual growth are inseparable. God changes us and reveals Himself in the context of people learning to live life together.

 

E q u i p p i n g

Leadership teams work to equip every Christian, young and old, male and female, to live the amazing life under God's direction where knowledge is deep, joy is authentic, and the power of the Holy Spirit is evident. Grace emphasizes empowering people to be confidently unleashed as an irresistible influence where they live, work, and play.
