University Arbors after school program:
If you would like additional information or help with the below Contact Josh Martin. at (662)416-2667 or JLMARTIN@OLEMISS.EDU
Theme: A place where the kids of University Arbors can come after school, twice a week and interact, learn, and have fun in a safe environment with Jesus Christ as our center.
What: Homework help, games, snack time, and an optional Bible story at the end. (Most of the international families in the complex are of a different faith. So, we will be consistent with some sort of Bible story with the kids, but we will also give the parents the option to have their children come home before the story. The Bible story will always be at the end, so if they do, they will not miss out on anything else. It is my hope and full belief that even if they do not attend the Bible story, that Christ will faithfully reveal Himself by working through the love we show them during homework help, snack time and game time.)
When: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00PM to 5:00PM
Why: For the glory of God, our Father. Our hope is to minister not only to the kids, but eventually to connect with the families and show them the love of Christ as well.
Needs:
Prayer. If you are interested in Praying for us please respond to this email. I will compile a weekly or bi-weekly short newsletter to send out so that they can be up to date on how to pray. Truth is, we need prayer covering this thing more than anything else. We want to see God Himself, not just the work of our hands be done.
Snacks. If anyone would like to donate snacks or juice or koolaid that would be amazing. Store-bought cookies or things of that nature would be cool. If anyone would like to make snacks (like fruit, graham cracker stuff) like moms who have their own kids to take care of but would still like to be involved, that would be amazing as well. Plus it would give people a realization that everything they have or do, large or small, can bring glory to God. They can contact Josh and we can coordinate that.
Games. Anyone who could donate balls of any kind or frisbees or some kind of games the kids could play would help tremendously.
