Winter Storm Fern Relief and Other Relevant Updates

From January 23 to 25, 2026, Winter Storm Fern came through Lafayette County and left what is sure to be a lasting impact. However, we believe this is the most appropriate time for our church to come together to serve and support both our fellow church members and the greater Oxford community. So, we've created this page to share (1) ways that you can receive assistance if needed, (2) ways that you can serve to provide assistance as a volunteer, and (3) ways that you can give toward these efforts.

Do you need assistance?

Let Grace Bible Church Know

Our church would like to know if you need assistance from damage caused by the storm (e.g., if you need roadways or driveways cleared, if you need limbs cut and/or removed, if you need a roof tarped, or some other related work). If you do, please fill out the following form: click here. We appreciate your patience as we sort through submissions in the order they are received. We will do what we can to promptly pass this information on to the individuals and organizations that are helping, and we will also keep it on file so that, if possible, a member (or members) from our church can assist.

Below, we have gathered as much information as we can for you to receive various forms of assistance in our community.

  • WARMING CENTERS: The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency has compiled a statewide list at this link.  
  • SAMARITAN'S PURSE DISASTER RELIEF: To contact Samaritan's Purse, currently (and temporarily) operating out of Christ Presbyterian Church through February 7, see this page.
  • MISSISSIPPI BAPTIST DISASTER RELIEF: To get on the list to receive relief efforts from the Disaster Relief arm of the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board, which will be based out of Anchor Baptist Church when they arrive, please submit your information at this link. 
  • EIGHT DAYS OF HOPE DISASTER RELIEF: To get on the list to receive relief efforts from Eight Days of Hope, currently (and temporarily) operating out of North Oxford Baptist Church, please submit your information at this link. 
  • GOD'S PIT CREW DISASTER RELIEF: To get on the list to receive relief efforts from God's Pit Crew, currently (and temporarily) operating out of Tippah County through February 11, please submit your information at this link.

Would you like to volunteer to provide assistance?

If you are a member of Grace Bible Church and would like to be made aware of opportunities to help others with damage and/or other issues related to the winter storm, please fill out this form. As opportunities become available, we will send you the information needed to jump in and assist with these requests.

Please note that for some of these organizations, some volunteer training may be required before you can serve (and that we are not in control of the timing of when you are allowed to start serving).
