A Word on the Capital Campaign Recommitment
Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Thus far our church’s first-ever capital campaign, Building on the Sure Foundation, can only be described as having been a resounding success. We met our stretch goal of $1.7 million in pledges and gifts in March 2022. Now, almost two years into our three-year campaign, we have collected more than $1.25 million. Best of all, we were able to finish construction and begin meeting for worship in our building before the campaign had even ended. Thank you for your generosity in supporting this work.
Yet we want to finish strong. We had to borrow $1.3 million to complete our funding for this project, and we must begin repaying the principal on this loan in April of 2024. A little over $500,000 remains to be collected on pledges made in 2022. Plus, many people have joined our church since the campaign began, and we want to give them an opportunity to contribute to the cost of our new building. Therefore, through the month of February we will have a recommitment emphasis. You’ll hear testimonies from church members and a special sermon on March 3 setting forth our hopes for the church going forward. On that day we’ll also ask everyone to turn in a commitment card, on which you’ll be asked to complete the gift you pledged in 2022, add to that gift, or, in the case of people who have joined Grace Bible in the past two years, offer to make a new gift.
Again, thank you for your generosity. The Building on the Sure Foundation campaign has already exceeded our highest expectations. Now that we are close to the finish line, may we, by God’s grace, complete what we set out to do.
