Grace Bible Church of Oxford: Oxford, MS

Our church abides by a leadership model we see prescribed for our benefit in Scripture. The “elder-led” approach provides us with sound guidance from a plurality of biblically-qualified men. Grace's polity (i.e., church government) emphasizes that all of the elders are pastor-shepherds of the congregation. Some of our elders are employed by the church, though most work in secular jobs and serve our church in a lay capacity. All elders meet the stated qualifications for this office as laid out in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. They meet regularly to pray and provide spiritual oversight on church matters. Elders are available to our members to answer questions, encourage, serve, and pray for them in any way.
