The Bible Conference is an annual conference hosted by Grace Bible Church that serves to edify the members of Grace, as well as the broader Christian community in our area, through in-depth study and application of a portion of Scripture. Each year we invite one scholar to lead our sessions together over the course of a weekend. 

This year, on April 12-14, we are excited to have Jared Wilson, pastor at Liberty Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO and Assistant Professor of Pastoral Ministry at Midwestern Seminary, leading us through the Book of Ruth. This short story, tucked away in the broader story of Israel’s history in the Old Testament, advances God’s plan of redemption in powerful, complex, and beautiful ways. Ruth helps the church see their coming redeemer, the person of Jesus Christ, and does this in such a way that teaches us how we might read the Bible for all of its fullness. 

We will meet for one session on Friday night, two on Saturday morning, and the conference will conclude with a final session during the Core Seminar hour on Sunday morning. Your registration will include a copy of Jared’s book, Ruth: Redemption for the Broken, with the option for dinner on Friday and breakfast on Saturday. We'll have several other book giveaways during the weekend as well. 

We will have childcare available for children from 1 to 11 years old. However, there is a limit, so it is first come, first served. If you register after the limit is reached, there will be an option to place your children on a waitlist. The deadline to sign up is April 3, 2024, so register as soon as you can.

Friday:

  • 5:30 pm - Registration/Check-In Begins

Saturday: 

  • 8:00 am - Breakfast 
  • 9:00 am - Session 2

  • 10:30 am - Session 3

Separate Event for College Students at Grace:

  • 11:45 am - College Student Lunch
  • 12:15 pm - Panel/Q&A with Jared and Becky (his wife)
  • 12:45 pm - Dismissal 

 

Sunday:

  • 9:00 am - Session 4 (during the Core Seminar hour at Grace)
  • 10:15 am - Dismissal (to morning worship service) 
  • 10:30 am - Morning Worship Service

Will there be childcare available?

We will have childcare available for children from 1 to 11 years old. However, there is a limit, so it is first come, first served. If you register after the limit is reached, there will be an option to place your children on a waitlist.

Is this only for members of Grace Bible Church?

While we certainly have members of our church primarily in mind for this conference, this event is open to the public. 

Is there a deadline to register?

So that we can plan for both books, meals, and volunteers, we ask that attendees register by Wednesday, April 3, 2024. After this, registration will become limited.

Is Grace Bible Church ADA-accessible?

Yes, our church's renovation in 2023 included ADA accessibility.

What are the options for parking?

Grace Bible Church has three lots next to its main building and office space (at 1720 and 1722 University Ave). There will be attendants available at the event, pointing our incoming traffic in the right direction.
